Whois Spam

I made the mistake of registering a domain name recently and forgetting to enable Whois Privacy.

I have forgotten to do this in the past with nothing really happening other than me feeling like a dork for forgetting it.

This time around included massive amounts of spam to email, text and phone calls.

I appreciate all the people wanting to build me a new website, but that’s still a thing, website maker?

Because the domain registrar I currently use charges extra for whois privacy, I’m switching over to new one that doesn’t and automatically applies it so this doesn’t happen again.

Lesson learned, whois spam is a massive problem so don’t expose your domain registration details.
