Each time we have some lunatic injure and kill folks, the articles about how the U.S. is essentially a shooting gallery start flowing and they are just ridiculous. It’s the same kind of nonsense spewed forth by local news channels that makes your town seem akin to Fallujah.

No one is going to argue against the horrific nature of these shootings and that it shouldn’t happen in a civilized society but to make people think and/or set the stage that even sticking your head out the front door will get it blown off is complete stupidity.

Should it be more stringent to acquire firearms, absolutely. But it should also be more stringent to get a driver’s license. Honestly I’m more afraid of getting taken out by a crappy driver than getting shot, stabbed, mugged, or whatever.

I don’t know what the solution is, but I’m pretty sure saying that we all live in the equivalent of an Iraqi war zone and should be issued flack jackets and bullet proof helmets is complete misinformation.

Note: Frankly I don’t think there is a solution other than humans evolving to some other state of being. When people, not just the lunatics or mentally disturbed, are willing to kill each other over a ham sandwich or a parking space, what do you do.
