First thing to mention, this is a seriously cool project. And it’s cool enough that I’ve actually donated to it to help keep it going and make it better.

Second thing, this post will be updated quite a bit as I continue to work with this project.

Basically you can install the project on a Raspberry-Pi or a virtual machine running a few different Linux distros and use it as a local DNS server to block internet ads and malicious domains used for cryptocurrency mining, malware and ransomware.

The project already has an excellent dashboard with the ability to whitelist and blacklist along with adding or deleting your own domain block lists.

There’s a lot to love about this project and I’ll be posting more on this…
